Congratulations to Sam Nixon & Mark Rhodes whose CBBC programme Sam & Mark’s Big Friday Wind-Up has been nominated for two awards in the 20th British Academy Children’s Awards – in the Entertainment category for the overall series and in the Presenter category for the Christmas Special.

The winners will be revealed at the Children’s BAFTA’s on Sunday 22nd November at London’s Roundhouse and will be hosted by Doc Brown.

We are delighted to announce that the much loved Impressionist & space enthusiast Jon Culshaw has joined The Sky at Night Magazine as a columnist. His column will be entitled Exoplanet Excursions & this off-world travelogue will take readers on a tour of the Kepler 62e system. It will be a voyage of awe & discovery through the beautiful yet hostile environments that make up space.

Jon said “each month in our Exoplanet Excursions I shall bring these exotic other worlds to life as our human senses might perceive them, imagining such alien experiences as what it would feel like to watch four suns of varying hues set after a blizzard of raining glass”.
