Damian Barr Damian Barr is a Times journalist, Radio 4 playwright and Host of the Soho House Literary Salon. As Host of the Soho House Literary Salon, Damian continues to tempt famous writers, including Geoff Dyer, Naomi Alderman and Louis de Bernieres, to the UK’s most exclusive and exciting book event held monthly. He’s been a celebrity judge for the Orange Prize and featured in all the major nationals. He just launched a reading holiday called www.readingweekend.co.uk Damian has appeared in The Independent, The Financial Times, Guardian, Telegraph, Harpers and Evening Standard and been shortlisted for a British Press Award. He has convinced Sir Terence Conran to kiss Philippe Starck, cooked a 32-bird roast with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and had a manicure with Paris Hilton’s mother. In 2006 Hodder & Stoughton published his book ‘Get It Together: Surviving Your Quarterlife Crisis’ and Damian is currently working on his next novel. Damian has co written two afternoon plays for BBC Radio 4: one set in a lift, the other in a beach hut. The next one will be recorded live on the Orient Express. Recruited by the Times straight out of university, Damian Barr is dedicated to discovering new lifestyle and social trends, people and places. In 2006 Hodder & Stoughton published his book about the quarterlife crisis. ‘Get It Together: Surviving Your Quarterlife Crisis’ was serialized in the Times and featured on Richard & Judy before being published in China. A darling of the literati, Damian made headlines from the New York Times to the Times of India for his pioneering role as the world’s first ever reader-in-residence.
