ED PETRIE

Ed is a BAFTA nominated children’s television presenter and has over 10 years’ experience in live, pre-recorded, studio and location filming.

He currently presents CBBC’s Marrying Mum and Dad as well as his 3 times BAFTA nominated comedy travelogue show All Over the Place, which are now on their fourth and sixth series respectively.

Ed was the main continuity presenter on CBBC for 3 years with his cactus sidekick Oucho, and was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Children’s Presenter in 2008. His other CBBC shows include Ed and Oucho’s Excellent Inventions and Transmission Impossible with Ed and Oucho. He also appears regularly in comedy sketches alongside Hacker the dog in Hacker Time, as well as frequent appearances in other CBBC shows.

He was a member of the National Youth Theatre throughout the 1990s and went on to study Drama at Goldsmiths College in London. He began performing stand-up in 2002 and a year later gave up his job as a TV researcher on the panel show They Think It’s All Over to become a full-time stand-up comedian, actor and television presenter. After appearances on comedy shows such as Smack the Pony and Green Wing Ed found himself regularly presenting children’s television on Nickelodeon from 2005, before moving to CBBC in 2007.

As well as his television work, Ed has continued performing stand-up comedy and recently supported the comedian Greg Davies on his Back Of My Mum’s Head tour. He has also enjoyed taking part in a number of pantomimes around the country including Cinderella at the Lighthouse, Poole in 2011, Jack and the Beanstalk at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton in 2013, and Robin Hood at the Lighthouse, Poole in 2014.

Last year Ed returned to the British Museum following his part in the previous year’s successful, live, worldwide cinema broadcast of the Pompeii exhibition, presenting 2014’s follow up – The Vikings.

Ed is currently filming season 4 of Marrying Mum And Dad.
