REBECCA WILCOX
TV career
Rebecca is one of the brightest young prospects currently working on British television. A vivacious, highly intellignet and confident presenter, she has recently won plaudits for her films in the Mischief strand for BBC3. Tackling the issues of spiralling credit and identity fraud, Rebecca 'maxed out' her credit card, shredded a life-size Carol Vorderman and camped outside the head offices of Sky Television in a pith helmet, all in the name of investigative journalism. Totally fearless, she tackles her subjects with wit and humour.
She is currently filming a brand new series for BBC3 which will broadcast in the Autumn. Earlier in 2008, she presented a brand new consumer strand on Channel 4's hit show How To Look Good Naked.
After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in English Literature and Language, Rebecca followed her dream of working in television. Starting as a Researcher she was promoted quickly, becoming an Assistant Producer on programmes such as Hell’s Kitchen, Trust Me – I’m a Holiday Rep and Cops with Cameras.
Rebecca’s talent and ability on screen shone through and she was asked to present a 6 part series for BBC3 called Conning the Conmen. In this new consumer series, Rebecca played an undercover reporter using investigative journalism to play pranks on conmen. Filmed using a mix of secret cameras and self shooting, the conmen were generally good humoured however there were many instances where Rebecca had to rely on her own wit and intellect to ensure her safety.
Other work
Rebecca also presented an hour long special for the BBC called Lewis Hamilton : Billion Dollar Man. A combination of footage of Lewis growing up and Rebecca’s interviews with the sports star’s family, friends and celebrity fans as well as the man himself. |
